West Ridge, A Fresh Hope, CAYA, and Paulding County Toys4Tots are joining together to sponsor Hope for Christmas Celebration December 19th from 2pm to 7pm. We will provide food and toys for local families, and children will shop for free presents for family members. All of this will be in a fun, Christ-centered environment as families enjoy the play area, visit Santa, make a craft, and celebrate Christmas.
Hundreds of volunteers are needed to serve more than 1,000 families expected to attend. As you can see from the Ticket Information above, there will be volunteer opportunities for everyone. Each person can sign up for one or multiple activities, as long as the assignments do not have conflicting time commitments.
Although most opportunities will be for December 19th, there will be many to help in the weeks before. Assignments for Registration - Data Entry, Volunteer Packet Preparation, Volunteer Packet Distribution, CAYA Food Delivery, and Food and Toy Sorting will be completed BEFORE December 19th. In some cases scheduling of time may be flexible but will be coordinated by the Team Leader for that area. Parking, Food Distribution, and some Hospitality assignments will be outside and participants should plan to dress appropriately for the weather.
To volunteer, please select the “ticket” for the area(s) you and your family would like to work and select “Register”. (Note: Families are welcome to serve together, but only count adults and children middle school and older in selecting the number of tickets for the assignment. Please specify in the Other Information box the names and ages of additional children serving with you. If a family member will be serving but in different jobs, then they may use this same order to register. You will need to enter their information for the assignments they have selected.) Enter the required information and select “Complete Registration”. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation via email. We will contact you with additional information regarding your assignment.
CHILDCARE - There will be childcare available for volunteers working between the hours of 11:00 am to 7:30 pm on December 19th. This is for children birth to 5th grade. A suggested donation of $3 per child is requested. Lunch and/or dinner will be provided to those attending during the lunch and dinner hours. Pre-registration is required so please specifiy on the Registration page if you need childcare.
There will be a brief meeting in the West Ridge Student Theater for all volunteers on Sunday December 13th, immediately following the second service at approximately 12:30p.m. We will distribute volunteer information packets at this time.
